Pedal Point

Pedal point is a technique that was mainly used by Classical composers in the Baroque era. It is where a phrase or passage keeps coming back to a common note or interval at regular times. Much used by NeoClassical Rock guitarists this technique can be used to ad some nice colour to scales, licks or arpeggios. It can be used to great effect in any style of music as well. I'll post a few pedal ideas I've come up with in this topic.

The first one is a pedal idea using a descending scale pattern usin g the G note on the high E string as the pedal or common tone.
